Principal's Message

We are ready to R.O.D.E.O. this year!  

Welcome back to the 2023-24 school year Norwood students and families! I am Kate Blazer and I am so excited to be the Principal here at Norwood Elementary. I am originally from South Carolina but my husband and I moved to Stanly County after getting married last year. I have been in education since 2011 starting off as a Science Teacher and then going into educational leadership. I believe that every student deserves a quality education and that it plays a vital role in your student's success later in life.

This year we are focusing on seizing every opportunity in the school day to ensure that your student is learning and being loved. Norwood has an amazing staff and community that we are lucky to have. Our school theme this year is R.O.D.E.O. or Reaching Outcomes During Everyday Opportunities. We want to give each student the chance to grow academically and personally. Students will receive instruction in many different formats from technology based to teacher led with a special emphasis on small group instruction. Through small group instruction your student will be provided with learning opportunities that are specialized to their learning growth.

I can't wait to see how our students thrive this year and reach their potential!
